Serving in the United States military taught me that a diverse country is our most significant advantage. Our nation has been constructed and continues to expand because of our immigrant heritage and pride in the opportunities this great nation provides. Our economy depends on our diverse workforce that innovates constantly due to values and cultural backgrounds. I will fight to ensure that comprehensive immigration reform is established to retain the current talent and to attract new talent to work, study, and serve in our armed forces. The border must be secure by ensuring the correct number of agents are employed with the latest technology to facilitate their critical job and to take action to prevent the flow of narcotics that are impacting our population nationwide. Ports of Entry (POEs) are crucial to our economy, safety, and people with shared interests on both sides of the border.
